Open With

Open .html and .htmlclay files from Finder, File Explorer, or your file manager directly in Hyperclay Local.

Hyperclay Local registers with your operating system as an alternate handler for .html (HTML Document) and .htmlclay (HTML Clay Document) files. Because it registers as an alternate rather than replacing your default browser, it appears in the Open With menu in Finder on macOS, File Explorer on Windows, and your file manager on Linux.

Open a document from your file manager#

  1. Right-click an .html or .htmlclay file inside your personal folder or one of your synced team folders.
  2. Choose Open With > Hyperclay Local (or pass the file path to the Hyperclay Local executable from the command line).

When the file is inside one of your served folders, Hyperclay Local:

  1. Starts that folder’s local server if it is not already running.
  2. Opens the workspace window directly to that document.

Messages when a file cannot open#

If the file you open cannot be served from its current location, Hyperclay Local shows a dialog explaining why:
